What Kinds of Problems Do You Have Experience Working With?
The following is a partial list compiled from Dr. Rehl's notes of actual cases and is not exhaustive:
Dr. Rehl treats the following chiropractic and nutritional/health conditions:
Why Would I Need Supplements If I Eat Well? Isn't That Redundant?
Even if you eat a high-quality diet, there are many reasons that you may benefit from supplements, which include much more than just vitamins and minerals.
It is difficult to eat certain nutrients with enough quantity and frequency to achieve a therapeutic effect. There is a big difference between eating for maintenance and undergoing a therapeutic phase where you are correcting imbalances in your body.
Due to overuse, chemical fertilizers, and lack of composting, the soil of our modern day farms is depleted of vital nutrients. Conventionally grown food no longer offers the minerals and vitamins it used to.
Omega-3 essential fatty acids are a kind of oil necessary to eat because the body cannot produce them, and they are one of the top nutritional deficiencies in this country. Because animals are no longer fed diets that include enough of these oils, the majority of meats, eggs, and fish from conventional sources no longer provide sufficient quantities.
White flour (among other refined grains) is one of the most common ingredients in modern food. When the germ and the bran are removed, so are the essential vitamins, minerals, and oils they contain.
Common cooking practices can greatly reduce the amounts of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes found in raw foods. * You may be eating well, but not digesting well, and therefore not assimilating nutrients optimally.
Substances such as food additives, caffeine, prescription drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and antacids can all interfere with the body's ability to absorb and retain vitamins.
How Long Do I Have To Take Supplements?
Supplements such as general multivitamins, minerals, and essential oils are usually important to take long-term. However, the majority of supplements I recommend are "therapeutic," meaning they are only used until the particular issue they are addressing is resolved. This may vary from a couple weeks to a few months, and occasionally longer, depending on many factors.
Some people have many health issues that they are trying to work out, and they resolve these issues in layers, therefore passing through phases of varying supplement protocols. Eventually, they may be able to just take a multivitamin product for maintenance.
What About the Supplements and Herbs I Already Have and Buy Regularly?
I recommend that people bring in all of their supplements, herbs, homeopathy, etc. that they are currently taking. I can muscle test with these to see if they help with the goals we have set for your health. Occasionally, people discover that the supplements they have spent good money on are either not working, not necessary or making matters worse. This is another way I can help you to save money in the long run—by helping you choose products that actually help you.
Can You Advise Me on My Medications?
Only physicians can legally prescribe or discontinue prescription medications. However, many medications are not necessary once the body is restored to health through chiropractic, nutrition, exercise, and/or stress reduction. This is true, and possible using the techniques and advise given at this office. For example, you can lower your cholesterol or blood pressure naturally, and it will be important to know how to discuss this with your physician. I can help you with informational material and co-manage your condition(s) with your physician.
In addition, since medications often have side effects (for example, the Pill causes vitamin B6 deficiency), we can use muscle testing to see how to best support your body while continuing these medications.
Please bring your medications (including birth control and painkillers) to your sessions.
